Winter is coming, patience is optional

 With just a few days until the summer solstice, we're all getting a bit closer to the inter-seasonal hump day. While some opt to travel south, others wait for the return of the snow to the northern hemisphere. Biding our time as patiently as possible, we do our best to enjoy the sun while it's here, but take a great deal of pleasure in the subtle queues that hint winter is not so far away. For example, our local hill recently started selling early-bird passes, and snow based operations are beginning to post job opportunities for the upcoming season. 

 So we wait patiently on the weather, or we live vicariously through those down south, or perhaps we drag our skis up the exposed roots and rocks to ski sun cups in the alpine. Though we may miss it, hints of winter can always be found. To help tide you over, here is a little reminder of why it's worth the wait.
