Black Diamond TV.
There's something inspiring about people who live their lives they way we wish we could. The people we watch in ski movies or the latest climbing edit on youtube. Not inspiring enough to actually change anything in our lives but inspiring enough for a facebook “like” or maybe a chat with some friends over a beer. Not enough to quit the job you hate or sell that big house with way more square footage than anyone needs and not enough to make $14 an hour working ski patrol or something crazy like that. We live our lives watching these people subconsciously accepting that that could never be one of us, how can we possible make ends meet with a life like that or the classic I have kids to support. I can't quite place my finger on if it's because I am no longer in my early 20's or if it's sheer magnitude of how much I hate my job but the impending feeling of it's now or never seems to weighing on me recently. Weighing on me so much so that's it's really all I can think about. There are people out there living the life we all want and why can't I do the same? Why shouldn't I?
Blackdiamond TV episode 1 is about one man's tipping point turned into a complete lifestyle change which promotes the balance we all crave. I found this episode to be extremely inspiring to continue making the changes I need to be making in order to lead a similar life. Below is Episode 1 of BD TV.
"A year after opening an outdoor shop in central Sweden, ski mountaineer Henrik Westling had felt like the walls were closing in. But how do you create a life that balances work, family and your passion for the mountains? In the first episode of BDTV, we travel to Jämtland, Sweden, where Westling recently completed his quest to climb and ski every one of the regions 178 summits. In doing so, he did more than accomplish a goal: he found a way of living that will inspire you to rethink how you create balance in your life."
