Endless Winter photos
This post by regular contributor "Kevin" was filed away as a comment so I thought I would bring it out so it could get some deserved attention, not bad for the rirst day of spring - anyone out there do any better than this?
Here is Kevin's post (it can be found here):
Well, we managed to pull off our annual "Ski to Sea" weekend with a quick visit to the Highwood Pass, followed by a paddle on the Upper Kananaskis Lake.
It made for a fairly gear intensive weekend. I'm sure our neighbours thought we were insane when we loaded up in town – not that there's anything unusual about that.
Lots of snow right down to the side of the road..
although a bit thinner than I expected in spots.
Still, I can't believe this is almost the first day of "summer"!
Alpine flowers will be a long time in coming yet.
Turns? Meh, we got 'em and they were fun but it started to drizzle pretty hard and we were happy to bail for Phase 2 of the plan…
Again with the gear transition…
With a nice roll down to the lake – love the Wheeleze!
Nice to get the tippy greenlander out
A couple weeks ago this was all under ice and the water still felt like it. Brrr! Not a day I felt like getting much rolling practice in!
Still, looking around I wonder which season we're really in?!
Anyway, I'm hoping some warm weather will eventually prevail but otherwise I hesitate to say that this will be "it" for our season. Seems every time I say that it snows some more…
To be continued
