Grand Teton National Park Trip -- Day 2 of 3
We already posted about day number one and here are a few words on day two. 'back to Grand Teton National Park but this time our access was through Death Valley, just north of Laurance S. Rockefeller Reserve. Approaches on the Tetons seem to be pretty lengthy and this was no exception. Makes for a full and excellent day.
Touring in the Tetons is a different program than here in the Kootenays. Rather than meander around and hunt for pow, Teton touring, for us anyway, was about one big ascent followed by an amazing shot down. I guess we could have lapped some of the slopes but these were already big days. Super cool experience with a great group. Thanks to Exum Mountain Guides for keeping us on track.
Here we are skiing across Phelps Lake, just before the up.
Here's a shot as we are dropping in to Son of Apocalypse, 2700' of gnar.
A little further down. One of our hosts, Jordan Campbell, shredding the chunder.
Into the guts of it.
Just before the crux.
Looking back up from a safe spot.

Here's looking back at the climb. Son of Apocalypse is the chute that's tucked in at about 1 o'clock.
