Greg Hill still going strong - 712 650 feet
"if all the year were playing holiday to sport would be as tedious as to work" Shakespeare
I think of that often as I skin up. I was getting a little stressed about my progress and when Tracey/kids left for three weeks I had to start off strong. So I went out and stayed at the Asulkan hut for 2 nights. I left at 1:30pm and toured twelve thousand feet the first day, had the hut to myself and slept well. Woke up and began touring/ sessioning Young's peak (8am). There was 20 cm on the headwall and 10 cm of light fluffy pow down to the hut. Wicked fun turns, lap after lap, slowly the heat of the day changed the lower snow but the headwall stayed shreddeable, right up till the alpen glow at 8 pm. 23 thousand feet. Great sleep and touring by 8, not as much motivation today but forced out another 11000 and called her quits. 46000 feet in 3 days. It definitely felt like work. Rewarding work but hard work nonetheless.
Now I am off to the Freshfield glacier, a basecamp style 5 day adventure.
