Greg Hill Update
Greg Hill, a 34-year-old ski mountaineer from Revelstoke, B.C., is on course to climb and ski two million vertical feet. That's more than 609 km and over 200 marathons, it's a number most skiers don't reach in a lifetime. This Quest has taken him from BC to the Yukon, Chile and Argentina - he's now just past 1.7 million vertical feet for the year. That's about 40,000 feet off pace, as he now must complete 7,000 feet a day for the rest of the year.
To his accomplishments Greg Hill has already:
50,000 feet of vertical terrain in 24 hours
80 10,000-foot days of skiiing in one season
1,000,000 vertical feet set as a benchmark in one season
21 summits of the Monashee Mountains skiied in 21 days
67summits conquered, so far
IF HE ACCOMPLISHES HIS TWO MILLION VERTICAL FEET GOAL, IT WOULD BE EQUAL TO:
69 trips up and down Mount Everest
200+ marathons
1,100 climbs up -- and skis down -- the CN Tower
