Kootenay Coldsmoke Powder Festival

This past weekend saw hoards of fellow backcountry enthusiasts and wanna-be ski tourers alike descend on Whitewater Ski Resort for the 8th annual Kootenay Coldsmoke Powder Festival. With over a metre of recent snowfall and a plethora of courses and clinics to choose from there was plenty to be had all weekend long. Peppered through out the three day festival were events like the ROAM Rando Rally, the Valhalla Pure Powder Keg Slopestyle and the Backcountry Olympics.

If you missed these events or were simply too busy shredding up the endless pow lines then here are a few pics to show you what you missed.

The Backcountry Skiing Canada crew had a tent in the trade fair area behind the lodge and it was great to meet hundreds of our loyal followers as well as future viewers. We were taking entires in a draw for two Suunto watches that we announced winners for on Monday, so if you entered be sure to check if you are a winner.
