Massive Retallack Avalanche - VIDEO
This video was captured by some well placed guests at Retallack Cat skiing Lodge just west of Kaslo BC. It seems that they were doing some avi control by using a cat to push snow off the top of the ridge in the hopes of testing the slope below and did it ever - looks like a class 4 which peeled off the entire face.
The real action heats up at the 1:25 mark - good to see they are ontop of things and but I wonder if they expected such a show?
The area looks awesome, mt reco and texas peaks. Is anyone familiar with the area in regards to touring? I went to the cat skiing site, they show the boundry they opperate with in. Can anyone comment on the ease of access for touring?
