Mt.Victoria

We climbed Mt.Victoria, at Lake Louise, last week under near perfect conditions. Went up the Lake O'hara side, and the scree gully getting to Abbott pass is probably the worst part of the entire route!

We used crampons on the Sickle  but it looked like it was possible to skirt on the rocks off to the side, although probably a bit more effort than the snow. I kept trying to imagine skiing the sickle, as so many folks seem to be doing these days. And I honestly think that it would be just an icy, sketchy line that has no room for error. I guess if you could hit it while there is snow on the surface, again something I find hard to imagine given that it is the rockies!! Good on those folks that ski it, at any rate!!
