Photo Comp - Rogers Pass Pow
Jan. 23 was the second day of the first Roger Pass Splitfest and right in the middle of the worst avalanche cycle the pass has seen in 30 years... While the conditions kept us out of the alpine and to safer treeline terrain, we were greeted with the deepest powder I've ever seen.
Saturday night it snowed again and sunday a small group of us headed up to McGill shoulder to be greeted with a 1.2km untracked powder run. Here is a shot of Bret near the top, obviously excited about the powder fields we discovered after dropping in off the ridge... While I have lots of pictures of people charging through snow up to their chest or epic spray, I liked this picture for the look (and pow) on his face!
