Ski Log
While backpacking around BC on a ski vacation I met a girl who told me she logged every ski day in her journal. She said she would write the dates and times, how many runs/elevation gained/vertical feet skied/etc. She would write about the weather and the people she was with, or those she met, and generally things that stood out to her that day. It was a form of meditation for her to sit calmly, after an adrenaline filled afternoon, and reflect on the day’s events. Years later, she would tell me that reading them helped bring back those vivid memories and she could recount them like it were yesterday.
For me it was always easier to mark x’s on the calendar on the days I didn’t ski. But I always counted nonetheless. Do you count your ski days or keep a ski log? How many days are you shooting to ski this year?
