Skinning up Balu

Balu Pass. Probably one of the most heavily trafficed locations in Rogers Pass, but beautiful all the same. Not much beats a perfect bluebird day with fresh snow and stable conditions, and we were lucky enough to get such a day on our first day ever in the Pass, and my friends first day in the backcountry (he's one of the two skinning up). 

We met a lot of interesting people on the way up, but had the whole slope we eyed out to ourselves on the way down. If only I didn't live so far away from the Pass! :)
