Van Charles Artwork

Curtis Van Charles Sorensen is a Contemporary Canadian Landscape Artist and backcountry enthusiast. His uplifting, inspirational artwork promotes conservation and preservation of the Canadian Wild. From his current residence in Nelson, BC to the southern grain fields of the prairies where he originates, Van Charles seeks to “immortalize [the backcountry] experience and foster the viewers appreciation for the natural environment.”

Since Curtis was a child he had no problem getting out there, exploring rivers, lakes and mountains. Motivated by nature and adventure you might find him out on the skin track or trail; hiking, running, biking, etc. “Equipped with a backpack and a camera, I travel to the deepest points of the Canadian backcountry to capture images of nature that will later be created in to my work.”

Curtis hopes to one day be recognized as an ambassador for the Canadian outdoor experience through his artwork.
