Visit to Woodbury Cabin, Kokanee Glacier Park
Hiked up to Woodbury Cabin last weekend and had a hoot. Went with youngish family members so, at the last minute, we swapped our reservations at the Silver Spray Cabin for Woodbury--because the hike in was a little mellower. The guidebook I read prior to the trip slagged Woodbury a bit, saying the views were mediocre and the hike in was a little boring. I beg to differ. We loved it and has a great time. With a 25$ per head, per night, tab the investment can add up pretty quick but, if you go in with your family, make sure you let them know at the ACC. Kids 16 and under are free.
There are pack rats so bring ear plugs if you are spending the night. We had no problem with them.
Here are some pictures of our two-night stay.
Hike in through the burn.
The Woodbury Cabin--a cool little, bomb-proof hut that's avy proof and was built, in part, from the scraps of a mining cabin by folks in a BC correctional services program.
The view of Woodbury Glacier, to the south. Pasque flowers included.
Is this Nells Cascade? Pretty dramatic whatever it is.
Almost full-moon shot of the same face, from a slightly different angle.
