        What's Up?

        Where are the Trip Reports, Conditions, Stoke, or flat out Bragging… there doesn't seem to be much of it this year. Makes it hard to gain insights into what's going on out there without poking around yourself.

        1. Is it because the season hasn't been much to talk about?
        2. Because there's no Expose Yourself or Soap Box comp?
        3. Because your mom's computer parental controls won't let you log on?
        4. Because the Backcountry got way too freakin' busy and if you mention you skied Aemmer Couloir on Friday, a dozen of your closest internet pals and your Grandma will be there on Saturday?

        It hasn't snowed a lot, but there's lots of places to go just to get out… either that or sit on the couch watching old episodes of Steel Panther TV.

        So-what if conditions aren't amazing?

        Well put Jake. So, what is up in your neck of the woods?

        We're trying to do our part by getting the Avalanche Condition Report Videos out there (next one due out on Friday) and we decided to spice things up with another give away,... this time a combo from Rab, the Neo Guide Jacket and Pants!

        I'm taking some friends out this weekend in the Bow Valley, but not sure what's good.  I've only skiied Roger's Pass so far this year.  Some say 93 N, some say 93 south...


        K country has had a rough start to the year, but it might be recovering?

        With the complete lack of snow in the Rockies the stability has been reasonable and allowed for pushing into some steeper terrain. The faceted snowpack on 93N has actually been skiing nicely in sheltered/wind loaded areas. Snowpack is thin! Sometimes the sastrugi and windslab has been nice just to keep the skis off the ground.

        Going to Mt. Norquay to do a few laps on groomers is starting to sound like a fun way to spend a day and I’m actually thinking about taking out the mountain bike this weekend.

        Really enjoying the vids from WH2O... Sweet that BSC, Rab, and the Canadian Adventure Company have put together some sweet prizes already this year too.
