Winter Legs.
This morning I woke up and decided I’d better start preparing my legs for this winter season, or I might end up joining the out-of-shape crowd taking mid run breaks or calling it a day before noon. As the mountains around us start filling with snow, I wonder if I have done enough to maintain my touring legs throughout the summer. Hiking, biking, swimming and running certainly have their place, but is it the same as putting in a skin track up a mountain? Or making turns for hours while lapping your local ski resort? I once ran into one of the creators of Sherpa Cinema’s hiking our local grind in ski boots. He told me he was preparing for big days of ski touring in South America for the filming of Into The Mind and breaking in new boots. My question to you is, what do you do physically to prepare for big days in the mountains?
