Mt Joffre July Pow
Most of us have to buy a plane ticket in order to fulfill our summer powder turn dreams. A trip to South America or New Zealand isn't the only way to get your summer powder turns in. When the weather is right a fresh of snow event can happen any time of year at elevation but getting after these conditions well into July can involve quite a bit of effort and a bit of luck in regards to timing. Trevor and Matt hit the magic combo on Mt Joffre earlier this week. At 3450m Mt Joffre is a significant peak to bag and even more impressive is being able to skin right to the summit. Add a spectacular descent in reasonable terrain, non-butt clenching terrain Mt Joffre is worthy of any ski mountaineers checklist. As usual, Trevor does a much better job describing his adventures than I can and he always delivers a satisfactory amount of photos so be sure to check out his blog ! http://perpetualski.ca/2016/07/a-moments-notice/
