Another amazing day at Kootenay Pass, coming down from ripple ridge into twin lakes we had great turns. We looked back and saw this.

Kootenay pass has been making all my ski buddies jealous since Nov 16th. Just great days, cool temps and enough coverage to put away my rock skis. Of the 30 days out on skis so far this season more than half have been up with the caribou at the pass. This particular day the clouds were playing along lightning strike and its ridge with blue skies above.
It doesn't take long to realize the easiest way to a long run is twin lakes then up and out to the highway. Just give yourself plenty of time, because you really do want that extra lap back to twin lakes from the Muffin side before you chase caribou down in the valley. Seriously, 2 close sightings last week down there. 2 females one day and a group of 2 females and a young male 3 days later.
