Farnham Conditions Report
One of the many relatively pointless activities I enjoy is trying to ski in every month of the year. Preferably in powder, but sadly that's not always feasible. In fact, my 19 month run of skiing powder in western Canada will officially come to an end on Tuesday, but luckily I still got out for some turns to continue the ski streak.Below are some photos from the day out a Farnham Glacier in the Purcells. Conditions on the glacier were great with over a meter of snow remaining in places. There are a few weak bridges lurking that would not hold the weight of a person, however, they were all in thinner areas toward the periphery where the crevasses beneath would have a hard time swallowing a chipmunk. That said, if warm temps continue the bigger holes may start to open up.
We were able to drive to just beyond the last bridge where leftover slide debris didn't seem worth chancing at night in the Subaru. Later in the day we did see someone's bush truck make it across.
Enjoy the photos:
Anyone else been out for some summer turns of late?
