Depth Perception
It's not an inner city freeway, it's traffic on the TCH in Canmore, Saturday Morning January 11, 2014.
The drive from Canmore to Banff usually takes about 15min... Leaving Canmore at 8:30am we didn't reach the first exit into Banff until an hour later.
For the Rockies 17cm is always a reasonably good dump... is 17cm worthy of Black-Friday-esk frenzie? Apperently so... With the scarcity of snow so far this season, the masses seemed to be on a fanatical, insatiable, hunt for mass powder destruction.
After the tedious drive, we pushed a little snow to the left, and a little snow to the right on Narao Shoulder. Somehow the shallow weak snowpack still felt amazing with that 17cm of snow... That's Depth Perception!
The O'Hara parking lot was not plowed so the 4x4 was somewhat useful. Some cars had parked on the TCH and one unfortunate skier lost a rear window and got a car full of POW. Likely not the way anyone is hoping to see their vehicle at the end of the day.
A quick walk in the Commenwealth Creek Area of Kananasksis Sunday January 12... The snow, warm temps, and wind had done their work... absolutlely massive whoomphing.
Enjoy the new snow!
