Endless Winter
Trip reports a bit on the lighter side…
First, this from the Stanley burn in KNP a few weeks back:
And then there was this from Black Prince north, in K-country:
Oh, and Sunshine backcountry in BNP:

This is great, too bad the Photo Comp is over for this year.
Sure beats the traditional boring old TR's.
Keep 'em coming!
A further installment from last weekend… a friend who hasn't been on his skis in 2 years joined us so we elected to hit someplace with simple terrain that was easy to bail on if blisters and/or gear exploded – AKA: Bow Summit.
Luckily, he had an awesome day so we pretty much hammered the place!
So there – now yer all caught up!
And the season just keeps going on!
With the return of sun and some warmth here in Calgary, I'm thinking I might take next weekend off to catch up on the Fall yardwork that never got done
Well, we managed to pull off our annual "Ski to Sea" weekend with a quick visit to the Highwood Pass, followed by a paddle on the Upper Kananaskis Lake.
It made for a fairly gear intensive weekend. I'm sure our neighbours thought we were insane when we loaded up in town - not that there's anything unusual about that.
Lots of snow right down to the side of the road..
although a bit thinner than I expected in spots.
Still, I can't believe this is almost the first day of "summer"!
Alpine flowers will be a long time in coming yet.
Turns? Meh, we got 'em and they were fun but it started to drizzle pretty hard and we were happy to bail for Phase 2 of the plan...
Again with the gear transition...
With a nice roll down to the lake - love the Wheeleze!
Nice to get the tippy greenlander out
A couple weeks ago this was all under ice and the water still felt like it. Brrr! Not a day I felt like getting much rolling practice in!
Still, looking around I wonder which season we're really in?!
Anyway, I'm hoping some warm weather will eventually prevail but otherwise I hesitate to say that this will be "it" for our season. Seems every time I say that it snows some more...
To be continued
