PHOTO COMP - Dolomite Circuit

This is from the Dolomite Circuit on the Icefields Parkway in March of this year. This is certainly one of the PREMIER tours in the rockies

In the photo, we’re just about the gain the col of the ridge that is south of Cirque Peak. Up to this point it’s all up, but once you get on the ridge there is a big open slope that gives you the first run of the day! Keep trudging!

BETA: It took us just under 6.5 hours. While I recorded the elevation gain at about 753 meters, if you include all of the ups and downs the total elevation gain for the day was closer to 970 meters. There is lots of avalanche terrain and terrain traps, so be sure to keep aware and use your head.
