Rockies - Easter Long
Easter Long Weekend – Lots of blue sky and summer like temperatures. Saturday March 30th we ventured up Hwy 93N near Bow Summit. Ski crampons were useful for frozen south facing slopes but north and east aspects still offered up some good turns on somewhat preserved snow. Not sure that will still be the case with the soaring temps over the past couple days.
It has been so warm for so long that we decided to pretend it is summer. Invermere served up some remarkably dusty brown pow for Easter Sunday. And for April Fools we even got to enjoy some T-shirt climbing in Canmore.
The weather man is saying some significant snow is on the way. Almost makes me sad after the brief taste of summer.
