Rocks, bush, and November Pow
Growing up next to the Rockies I've come to know and respect the powder tax. Nothing that's ever really worth while comes easy. Tired legs, bruised, beaten and battered gear and variable snow pack all lead to early season woes. Knee, to hip deep blower powder on the other hand makes you forget everything else in life in the search for more. Friends and I have been frequenting various locations of highwood since the first major storm Sept 29. We have been compacting "fat" areas taking mental pictures of where the base actually is, waiting for an appeance of the dry, slap you in the face, white gold.
Nov. 2nd we showed up early in highwood pass parking lot aheaded of November's first big storm. Only a few cms had fallen over night and not much was forecasted to fall till the folowing evening. Were we ever in for a supprise.

Mother nature had granted our wish, and provided the goods. After 3 amazing runs my legs were jello, I was soaken head to toe thru all my gore, my board had a few more scratches, but all I could think about is I want more.
