Sunshine slack country on weekends and over the holidays
I frequently head up Twin Cairns or Quartz Ridge, or down Healy Creek on weekends or holidays from Sunshine Village. I'm not seeking big lines or big descents from here, just some easy runs through glades or the alpine, with a return to the lodge in the afternoon in time for a beer. If anyone's interested in joining me, let me know.
I usually don't do anything interesting unless the avy rating is moderate or low.
Well I'm heading to Castle mountain tomorrow solo after my nightshift tonight. I guess I must need more ski partners. I'm AST1 trained and Avi equipped but just don't venture out as much as I would like. have skied to the out gates at Sunshine and that's it as I'm usually with my kids or someone, like my wife, thats not equipped to venture out. I usually avoid Sunshine unless it has dumped and or there is a social reason to draw me there. I Think I'd be there more often if the Dive was open more consistantly. I'm in Ft. Saskatchewan so any where I go is a drive, and I'm a shift worker so like mid week if I can time it with the dumps. I'm 51 relatively fit and ski harder now than when I was 20, although my body does complain a touch! Would like to touch base and see if I can get some use out of my skins.

Lets do some Dive laps or maybe a little backcountry tour next time you are there on a weekend or holiday. I would like to pick your brain about Red Mountain too, we're heading there for some (inbounds) fun in February.
