        Touring to Blue River

        Hey folks,
        we planed to come to the Revelstoke area for backcountry skiing and ski touring in January. A friend is also working at Blue River, so I had the (maybe pretty dumb and crazy) idea to do a tour from roundabout Kinbasket Lake to Blue River looking like this: Link
        Planed as a 3 day trip with biwaking 2 nights. If faster than expected adding Adams Rock as a peak in between^^. Only at perfect conditions (not too much snow, nice weather) of course.

        I have no idea if this is at all possible because it's hard to find maps and other information about this area. Any advice? (Just call me nuts is fine as well!^^) I don't even know if the road up to the dam at Kinbasket lake will be open in winter...

        Yeah but this just popped in my head so I thought I'll ask you guys, what you think about this.

        Sounds like a fun adventure!

        I'm sure the road is open at least all the way to the dam (it's a provincial highway). It might also be plowed on the bridge and across the river depending if they are logging there or not.

        There is a large network of logging roads you might be able to use to skin up from valley bottom to higher grounds. You can basically pick the valley you want to go up.

        I have no more info for you. CMH monashees operates in that area so you'll see a lot of ski tracks everywhere. A CMH guide would be the person to ask for route choice...

        Let us know how it went if you end up doing it.

        Holy! That is a crazy idea but then again there's nothing wrong with crazy ideas! Would be a first i am pretty sure? Anyways +1 for keeping up posted!

        Ok, thanks guys. Up to now it's just an idea, I guess I'll just talk to people from CMH monashees as soon as I get there. Nice to know that there is this CMH lodge right at the starting point, haven't seen this yet.
        Well yeah, I'll keep you posted but I can't promise this will work out. Everything will be really complicated because I'm in Ontario for an exchange term right now and will have to get most of my gear from Germany somehow :D.

        Anyway, if anybody is intersted to join on this, let me know! :)
