Canuck Splitfest in Rogers Pass
I had a great time at Canuck Splitfest this past weekend. 90+ splitboarders converged at the Glacier Park Lodge at Rogers Pass and good times ensued. Organized by a volunteer and presented by Prior, the event went off with out a hitch. Quality films, speakers and beer filled the evenings. While amazing terrain kept us busy in the daylight hours. I had never been to Rogers Pass in the winter and I was absolutely floored by the amount of rideable faces that could be accessed after simply stepping out the hotel door. Having mostly ridden in the Kootenays I was also humbled by how big everything was, evevation gain that would normally afford 2 or 3 laps around home, only got us to the point where we could acctually see the peaks. The stability was pretty good, and our crew from Nelson found great lines to ride in the Canought(sp) Creek area and plenty to go back for. There was also a raffle at the event and $11,000 worth of prizes including 7 split boards were raffled off raising around 5 grand for the Canadian Avalanche Centre.
Light was pretty low so I didn't take too many pics, heres a couple and the event logo.
