Avalanche Conditions Report Feb 4th 2021 - VIDEO
In this latest Avalanche Conditions Report Video Whitewater Ski Patroller Dave talks about how 90cm of snow has fallen in the past week and when combined with light to moderate SW winds they have created a reactive storm slab that now sits on the January 25th surface hoar.
This surface hoar is more prominent between 1600-2250m and in the alpine this new snow is sitting on either old wind pressed snow or the January 13th crust.
There was a wide spread avalanche cycle between Sunday and Tuesday with some operations seeing historical avalanches running. Avalanche Canada is calling the hazard considerable at all elevations, but remember that this means natural avalanches are possible and skier trigger avalanches are likely!
Be safe out there!
