        To Hell in a Heartbeat: First Hand Account of a Deep Burial Extraction

        Avalanche safety is a huge topic. Risk management, heuristics, situational awareness, group dynamics - the list of engaging and complex discussions goes on. We attempt to master these concepts and patterns to avoid getting caught and buried, but unfortunately human triggered avalanches still occur every season. This blog post and video do an excellent job at conveying a distilled message: have a beacon, shovel, and probe, and know how to use them. Simple advice that has proven to save lives:
