        Backcountry Conditions

        Hey everyone,

        I'm heading to Whitewater ski resort this Friday to do some sidecountry skiing with some friends and I wanted to know what the conditions are like.  My friends and I, all new backcountry skiers, are taking the 'DISCOVER WHITEWATER BACKCOUNTRY' program offered by the resort and I was wondering if after this course we will be able to venture off on our own?  I also purchased the backcountry map for Whitewater from this site and I was wondering if there were any recommended runs or cautions.  Do skiers venture into the backcountry around Whitewater when the avalanche conditions are considerable?
