Backcountry Report
This December is certainly not the "Deepcember" it was labelled last year but more like "Drycember" most people have been grumbling about recently. After skiing Acidophilus and White Queen today just outside the boundary at Whitewater Ski Resort, I say 'suck it up'. While the conditions may not be the normal deep coverage we are all used to many visitors to Whitewater have been telling me that it is far better than the snow that is not to be found in Washington State, Whistler or even Red Mountain Resort.
Top of the boot Pow was pretty easy to find on both Acidophilus and White Queen routes and while you still have to be cognizant of stumps, trees and holes the skiing was pretty darn good.
It's easy to complain about what we "should have" instead of appreciating "what we do have".
Get out an enjoy it already!
