COMP - Whitewater newbie
After 9 years of living in Lake Louise, skiing the sketchy thin snowpack, I've uprooted myself and landed in Nelson BC. It is a whole new world out in these parts, both with life and skiing. It's been pretty amazing so far, even with the big drought I've been out finding the goods in the backcountry, and wow is the backcountry around Whitewater ever special!!! If you don't have the gear or knowledge the resort is quite limiting compared to a huge resort like Lake Louise, but I call Whitewater a 'backcountry skiing resort' with some of the most amazing ski terrain you could ever dream of accessing with your own 2 feet. I've already explored many of the zones but there is so much more to experience and more snow to come! Here are some of my favorite pics I've taken from the last month around the Whitewater backcountry....
