Jan 02 WhiteQueen
Even with the elevated avi rating due to this weekends new snow we decided to head out to see how the new storm snow was sitting on the weak layers and try and get a safe ski in.
We chose WhiteQueen but kept it ultra conservative given what we saw and heard. We stuck to the heavy trees shy of the summit and had a great run down with no activity. The snow was deep and just a bit on the heavier side but still Really Good! The alders at the bottom are well covered and the sun crust is only evident on hard turns.
Overall worth the effort but definitely play it safe and avoid the obvious avi paths as things are not stable out there at the moment.
