White Queen reigns supreme
Forecast at 6:00 AM for Whitewater:
- 16cm of fresh (on top of yesterdays 20cm) with blue bird skies and -11 degrees.
The plan:
Hit first chair and get to White Queen for first tracks before the masses and the sun has a chance to do its spring time thang.
The Reward:
One of the best laps down White Queen all year and possibly in a long, long time. This one definitely ranks in the top five White Queen laps ever - fresh light snow combined with blue bird sunshine always produces great things. White Queen is know for it's may changing faces and usual wind blown start. But today, she was a different kind of animal all together - the kind you plan for and when things align just right the reward is better than you imagined.
I think that the window on this one has closed (with the many skiers which followed us combined with the sun beating down all day) - at least for today as tomorrow will bring another opportunity to make a new plan as there is more snow in the forecast (move over monday morning responsibility and work commitments).
