Whitewater Touring rocks at the end of march (most of it)
Hit the triple treat today at Whitewater with a not-so-early start which consisted of Acidophilus, 5-mile and Goat slide. We did not expect much as the sun has been out cooking things up and the lack of any big snow over the past week was not making us feel any better. Three runs on three different aspects told the following story:
1. Acidophilus: 1/5 - dust on crust with everything sluffing.
2. 5-mile: 4/5 - 10cm on a soft slab that proved to be a smile maker.
3. Goat slide: 0/5 - 4cm on a first sun crust brought out the survival ski techniques.
It was snowing hard all day up there so I am sure things will improve and for end of March we are not going to complain - still plenty of skiing to be had and with the long days there are no excuses.
