Whitewater's Glory Ridge Chair - UPDATE
With all the hype in town about the epic year on our doorstep and the sure signs of snow topped elephant mountain out the office window – I thought it was time to see what was really going on up at our beloved Whitewater and what the new Glory Ridge Chair was looking like.
With the addition of towers and snow on the ground things sure look to be transforming into a new ski hill – the guide cable is in place and it looks like the main cable is starting to be spooled off onto the towers.
The Glory Ridge Chairs in waiting are slowly getting covered in snow with approximately 15cm at the base and substantially more at the summit. Not long now before these start going onto the cable.
The view of the summit chair from Bonanza is a familiar sight and the base seems to be stacking up nicely with approximately 45cm at the top of Summit Chair with a firm but breakable rain crust down 10cm.
The summit of the Glory Ridge Chair is starting to resemble a chairlift thanks to the efforts on the Whitewater Staff and contractors that seem to be beating the snow thus far.
A parting picture of one Seven Year olds reflection on what the new Glory Ridge Chair will mean to them and what possibilities it brings. What a triple chair is exactly all about? How fast does it go? Can I really ski down from here? Does this mean Quick Silver is no longer my favourite run?
Only time will tell.
